The Herald, Piedmont, West Virginia, 27 Jul 1900: "Mrs. Martin Foley died July 21, 1900 at her home on Westernport Hill aged about 40 years. She had been a great sufferer for the past year from a complication of diseases. A husband and two daughters and two sons survive. The funeral took place Monday from St. Peter's Catholic church. Among those attending from out of town were her mother and sisters, Misses Ella and Julia, Mr. John McDermott and daughter of Connellsville, Pa.; Mrs. Dan McDermott of Mt. Savage; Mrs. M. Codire of Cumberland; and Mr. John J. Foley of Grafton."
