Kate was very religious, very strict, very clean, a perfectionist. Kate could speak, read and write Polish and English, but she did not like to speak English at home. She was afraid she would make a mistake speaking English. Kate was a great cook making a lot of soups and stews. She was known for her melt in your mouth veal and potato soup. Frances, her daughter, called this "European Cooking" because she did not cook all the traditional Polish meals. Kate passed on her sewing, knitting and crocheting skills to her daughters Frances and Helen.

Kate and George's children celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on January 15, 1959 with a dinner given at their home.

Kate died of stomach cancer recovering from an operation at the home of her daughter Frances on Orchard Park Road, West Seneca, New York.
