Addison [1st] married his cousin, Lydia Ann (Osburn) Osburn (26 Aug 1817 - 13 Oct 1852), on 14 Mar 1836 in Loudoun County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Joel Osburn (1776-1855) and Massey (Osburn) Osburn (1793-1849).
In the 1850 U.S. Census, Addison was living in Loudoun County, Virginia. His son, Adolphus, was living with him, but Lydia was not.
Someone thinks that Addison married Massey C. Osburn (14 Aug 1814 - 9 Jan 1894), the daughter of Thomas Osburn and Nancy (Burns) Osburn. In U.S. 1860 Census, Addison and Massey were living together in Loudoun County, Virginia.
However, when Addison married Caroline (McDonough) Osburn (born c.1835) on 25 Sept 1867 in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia, he says he is a widower.
Caroline was born in Montgomery County, Maryland, to was the daughter of Joshua McDonald (born c.1801) and Mary McDonough (born c.1804).
In the 1870 and 1880 U.S. Censuses, Addison was living in Hedgesville, Berkeley County, West Virginia, with his sister-in-law, Catherine (McDonough) Wyndham (1834-1915). Catherine was Caroline's older sister. Caroline was not living with them in 1870 or 1880.
Addison wrote his will on 17 July 1883 and it probated on 16 May 1898. He mentions Emeline Dowell and Eliza Hawling (daughters of his brother Richard); Lula Gingrich (Emeline's daughter); Virginia Porter and Catharine Manning (daughters of his sister, Malinda); his nephews, Harrison, Decatur, and Octavius Osburn; and Catharine Wyndham (with whom he was boarding).
