Negro League Baseball Player. Born in Mobile, Alabama. Played for many teams in the Negro Leagues from 1928 and into the 1950s. Most notably with the Pittsburgh Crawfords and the Homestead Grays. He was a pitcher as well as catcher in his career. He played in the Negro League World Series as a member of the 1932 Crawfords where he gained his nickname "Double Duty." He caught one game of a doubleheader during the Series, then pitched in the second game at Yankee Stadium against the Monroe Monarchs. At the time of his death, the 103 year old Radcliffe was believed to be the oldest living baseball player.
