Our Mother Althea Hill Carson was born in Payson, Utah, Utah 16 October 1912, the year Arizona became a state, to Jasper Franklin Hill and Alice Mary Finlayson Hill, the 8th of 13 of their children. Grandma also said she was a very good baby and girl growing up. She went to Taylor, Central, Junior and Senior High Schools there in Payson. She had many friends, played the piano and on wash days stayed home to help her Mother. Then sang the Star Lead in all the Operas in Senior High School.

She met our father Ralph Lynn "Buss" Carson at a dance down in town. Daddy always said the minute he put his arms around her to dance he knew she was to be his wife. They dated for over a year and then were married in the Salt Lake Temple 25 May 1931. I, Colleen came along their first then my dear brother Douglas, my sweet honey colored hair sister Barbara Jean, next and the Red Headed fourth in line Althea Joan and 5th but the most special I always said was my little baby brother Merrill Alvin. Daddy was always smitten with the western world and entertainment. Mother loved that part of life beings she was a singer anyway. They made an excellent couple all their lives, traveled extensively in the United States, Canada and Mexico with the western entertainment,,,, mainly horses and Daddy played the guitar and Mother sang with him until they got older.

They lived in Payson at first but were always trying to get located in Southern California. After WWII they found their place in North Hollywood, California where they lived their interesting lives. When Daddy died in 1991 Mother stayed living at the place. She continued announcing their family Western School Show Entertainment overseen by Merrill until they ended the shows in 1994.

She left us kids and beloved grandchildren suddenly 11 September 2011, Twin Towers Day everyone calls it, when she had some miner surgery in the Van Nuys Hospital. She lies contentedly beside Daddy her special eternal sweetheart there in Forrest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, California.

We love you very much Mother and Thank You for all you did for us and happy times you led the way for all of us.. Colleen, Douglas, Barbara Jean, Joan, Merrill, daughter in laws Ginny and Cheryl, son in laws, Dude, Dale and Jim, grandchildren, Colleen did not have children but claims all the family as her own, continuing on Mike, Randy, Scott,and KayLynn, Connie, Cindy, Cheri and David, Charisse, Brian, Charelle, Chareyye, Charonne and Little Jimmy, Christy, Michelle, Nicole, Janai, Justin and Stefanie, then last but not least, Brittney, Jeffery, Carson, Jordon, Tommy, Tyler, Whittney, Brenner, Hayley, Bryson, Alison, Bentley, Amanda, Andrew "James", Brielle, Braylee, Monet and Durant, Vander, Danielle, Archer, Hendrix, Hallie, Dyllion, Leella, Samantha, Hannah, Jordan, Jayce, Taylor, Jaxson, Austin and Allysa, James, Brett, Malinda, and Emily Rose, Meagan, Amanda Kritine, Kelly, and Kevin, Danielle Jene, Tyler, Gavin, Rebekah, Bryce, and Natalie, Kylie "K.C.", Blake, and Jason and Owen and Kate that is it as of July 2014. AS OF..22 Jan 2015 Your are now Great Great Grandparents with the birth of Dakota Joyce Watts, baby daughter of Jeffrey and Bronte (Costillo) Watts,,, Now as of Dec 2015 Elizabeth Ann Vanderwel, says Hi, Bye and Thank You Grandma Althea.
