WILLARD GRAVES BAGWELL, 86, of Leeds, Alabama, passed away in Pell City at the Col Robert L Howard State Veterans Home. He was born in Haleyville, Ala, in a small community known as Dime, Ala to Clifford and Elizabeth Bagwell. He was married to Diann Roberson for 33 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, enlisting as Clerk General on Aug 10, 1944, and assigned to duty with the 162nd Infantry on Jan 24, 1945. He earned the Rifle Sharpshooter Ribbon; the following military ribbons and medals: Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Ribbon (Japan), Victory Ribbon, and 2 Overseas Service Bars; and an Honorable Discharge Nov 27, 1946. Willard is preceded in death by parents; brother, J.C. Bagwell; sisters, Ima Lee Black and Mary Wigginton; survived by his wife, Diann; 2 sons.
