Hecht was a family dog a long furry dog, with black and dark brown fur. He became my sister Wendy's dog. We had Hechtor at the same time I had my first cat Tiger.
Hechtor liked riding in the car. I remember my family moved from Coon Rapids Minnesota to Globe Arizona in 1970. We had Hechtor the dog, Tiger a pregnant cat, and a gerbil that had about 6 to 8 babies. We were in an Chevy Impala, and the large gerbil cage was on the floor in the back. Tiger, Hechtor, Chuck my brother, and I were all in back too. My mom, and sister Wendy in the front. MY Dad drove the U Haul truck. It was so fun and crowded.
I remember we were at a gas station stopped and my mom was in the drivers seat with a map and for some reason Tiger decided to go in front under the steering wheel where my mom's foot was on the gas pedal Tiger decided to poop on my moms foot. My mom started to scream when she realized what Tiger had done. Hechtor was barking and the gerbils were running in their excise wheel that screeched. When we stopped at night we took out the gerbils running wheel to keep it quiet.
That was such a long journey. When we stopped at Iowa in a place called Lewis to see my Grandparents at their farm Tiger ran out to the woods and had 3 or 4 kittens.
