CALVIN HENRY POWELL, of Webster, Texas, joined his Heavenly Father November 19, 2005. He was born in Jewett, Texas, on December 2, 1927. Calvin graduated from Pasadena High School in June 1946 and joined the U.S. Air Force the following September. He attended the University of Miami. He retired from Houston Lighting and Power Co. in 1987 after 35 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Pasadena Masonic Lodge No. 1155. Calvin is best remembered as a dedicated and loving husband and father and for his love of the outdoors, especially the Rocky Mountains. He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin D. and Delura Herren Powell, sister, Jesse Faye Powell and granddaughter Jenny Mae Adams. He is survived by his wife, Lena and sister Lorise Currie, as well as children, Martin Powell and wife Cynthia, Mark Powell and wife Debbie, Virgina Pickett and husband Wilbert, Lisa Conley and husband Russell, Rex Adams and wife Laura, Kimberly Holt, Keith Adams and wife Karen, 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. His family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the special nurses and aides of Amed Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 23rd at Forest Park East Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Calvin's memory to either Pasadena Masonic Lodge No.1155, P.O. Box 6389, Pasadena, Texas 77506-0389 or the ALS Association of Greater Houston, P.O. Box 271561, Houston, Texas77277-1561.
