Mr. Boyett was the son of Benjamin Franklin and Ida Arledge Boyett. He was a farmer and a member of Hill Ridge Baptist Church.

He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Vera Boyett of Winnsboro; two sons, B. Boyett, Jr. of Bossier City and Robert Boyett of Orlando, FL; a daughter, Miss Peggy Boyett of Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Wilson of Rayville and Mrs. Vina Williamson of Winnsboro; four brothers, Horace Boyett of Alexandria, Manuel Boyett of Monroe, Asa Boyett of Kansas City, MO, and C. B. Mosby of Henderson, TX; 2 granddaughters.
