Chester Eugene Bare died August 19, 1984 at Pemiscot County Medical Center in Hayti. He was 89.
He was born July 2, 1985 at Carlinville, Illinois, the son of the late Allen and Mary Elma Wheeler Bare.
He was united in marriage to Geneva Brooks at Saint James, Missouri, on May 1, 1931.
Besides his parents a son, Robert Allen, preceded him in death.
Mr. Bare was a truck driver for a roofing products company in St. Louis for over 45 years.
He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Army as a Wagoner, and a member of the American Legion Post No. 88 in Caruthersville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 21, 1984, at 10:30 a.m. at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter with Rev. Joe Smith officiating.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Geneva Bare, of Cooter; one sister, Mrs. Irene Burns of Cuba, Missouri; five nieces and four nephews.
Pallbearers were Tim Smith, Steven Childers, Mason Laster, Jr., Marvin Childers, Tom Burns, and Paulice Alexander.
Burial was in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele.
John W. German Funeral Home in Steele was in charge of arrangements.
