Clyde was born in Danville, Arkansas on October 22, 1911. He came from Arkansas to Texas after the death of his mother and was working on the Bivins Ranch when he met his wife Mildred Sis Morris. They married April 22, 1935. He and his wife lived in Amarillo, TX and the Texas Panhandle area. Clyde worked for Clowe & Cowan. He later became a butcher and worked at Holly's Market on W 6th Amarillo, TX. In poor health he became a car salesman, selling imports at Economy Motors in Amarillo. He returned to being a butcher and worked at Big B Country Store in Borger, TX.
