Gale A. Houser, 91, of 984 Snowmass Drive, Galion, died Sunday, August 20, 2006 at home unexpectedly.

Born April 18, 1915 in Pickerington, he was the son of the late Val Houser, Sr. and Pearl (Gierhart) Houser. He married Constance M. "Connie" (Fischer) Houser on January 11, 1944 and she survives.

He was a graduate of Pickerington High School in 1934 and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Galion and an Associate member of First United Methodist Church in Palmetto, Fla. where he and his wife have spent their winters since 1982. He is a member of the Fairview Cemetery Board; Men's Club at Church and enjoyed golfing, gardening, singing and wood working. He retired in 1982 from GCS Air Service in Galion.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Debra Houser of Mansfield and
David Sr. and Alice Houser of Youngstown; five grandchildren, Greg Houser, Amy Houser, Jimmy Woodke, Alan Houser and Troy Solze; six great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice and Howard Tharp of Columbus and a brother and sister-in-law, Val Jr. and Janet Houser of LaGrange, Ga.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 24 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Music officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Full military graveside services will be held by the Galion area veteran's organizations.
