Chicquetah Gafford Hensley Pate, age 76, of Corinth, Texas and former resident of Turkey, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at her home. She was born July 12, 1936 in Turkey, Texas to George Edmond Gafford and Arlie Jackie Shelton Gafford. After the passing of her birth mother, she was raised by a special step-mother Mary (Judy) Elizabeth Gafford. Chicquetah was a member of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas. A loving mother, Chicquetah was a homemaker until her children entered school. Then Chicquetah became employed by Lockheed Martin as a Buyer. She retired after 30 years. Chicquetah was an adventurous person, and loved telling stories. She enjoyed arts and crafts, dancing, gardening, animals, the beach, and, most of all, travel. She is survived by her son and 2 daughters; eleven grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren and one brother. Chicquetah was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Leon Hensley, a son, Douglas Hensley and a brother, George Lavon Gafford.
