James "Jim" Bishop, 68, of Cartersville died Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at his residence. Born July 22, 1941 in Newnan, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Earl Bishop and the late Hattie Mae Bears Bishop.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Tidwell Bishop; and his sons, Lee Bishop and Jesse Bishop.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army having served during Viet Nam. He enjoyed karaoke, playing poker, casino trips, and watching TV.
Survivors include his daughter, April Dawn Bishop; his sons, Kenneth Earl Bishop and Jason Earl Bishop; his grandchildren, Jordan Bohannon, Hunter Bohannon, Isabella Bohannon, Matthew Shawn Bishop, and Jessie Lee Bishop; and special stepsons, Darrell Jordan and Ronnie Poston.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2009 in the Cassville Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Richmond officiating. Full military honors will be provided by American Legion Carl Boyd Post #42.
