Halbrook, Alton C. Alton C. Halbrook peacefully passed away on Friday, Mar. 18, 2011 at the age of 90. He is finally at peace after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Mr. Halbrook served our country as a decorated Marine in WWII and spent almost 4 years as a P.O.W in the Asian Theater. After the war Alton worked as a loyal employee of Allstate insurance company for 37 years. Alton was born on Nov. 16, 1920 to Calpalkcus and Ona Holbrook in Maypearl, TX. He is preceded in death by brothers, G.H.L. and Onas Holbrook. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nell Sloan Halbrook; Son, William Alton Halbrook and daughter-in-law, Gail; Daughter, Deborah Jackson and son-in-law Jimmy; 3 grandhildren, Christina Halbrook, Amy Jensen and James Matthew Jackson; Sister, Maurine Wood, Brother, Jack Holbrook and his wife Gunda of Cooper, Tx; and brother, Odis Holbrook of Houston, Tx. Funeral services will 12: 30 p.m. Monday, Mar. 21, 2011 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Restland Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Fisher House via www.fisherhouse.org.
