Marvin E. Mast - Age 42
Manager of Doxol Gas Company, Korean War veteran, and member of a Moose Lodge in Illinois where he lived up to 1972.

He was the son of Norman A. Mast of Phoenix (1909-1975).

Marvin Eugene Mast married Loretta M. Hood in Imperial, CA on November 29, 1968 & they had 2 children - Robert Kevin Mast and Patricia Ann Mast. [Thank you Judy]

The Kingman Explosion, also known as the Doxol Disaster or Kingman BLEVE, was a catastrophic boiling liquid expanding vapor explosion (BLEVE) that occurred on July 5, 1973 in Kingman, Arizona.

Marvin Eugene Mast, the manager of Doxol Propane and who was on top of the tanker, died from burns from the initial fire that erupted.

Firefighters Richard Lee Williams, William L. Casson, Roger Allen Hubka, Myron B. "Jimmy" Cox, Lieut. Joseph Mintor Chambers III, Art Stringer, Christopher Grey Sanders, John Campbell, Frank Stewart "Butch" Henry, Donald Webb and Alan Hansen died in service with civilian Margin Eugene Mast when a propane tanker exploded at the Doxol Propane plant in the 2600 block of Andy Devine Avenue.

The explosion killed a total of 13 people and injured 112 people. In addition to the eleven city firefighters and one railroad worker killed in the disaster, one state trooper (firefighter), Alan H. Hansen, was also killed in the explosion.

Firefighters Memorial Park in Kingman is dedicated to those 11 firefighters who died in the BLEVE.
