Robert Wayne Alred, 83, of Cedar Hills, UT, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2011. He was born on September 18, 1928 in Elko, NV to Ezra Wayne and Mollie Phelps Alred.

He married Betty Jean Kallas on April 12, 1953 in Elko, NV. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 20, 1966.

Robert worked as a pharmacist for O.P. Skaggs and Osco drug stores. He was an avid gardener and many people were lucky recipients of his bounty. He won several "Best Yard" awards in Orem City.

Many thanks to the aids and staff at The Charleston at Cedar Hills and the nurses with Envision Home Health and Hospice for their love and care for Robert.

He is survived by his children: Chandra (Val, deceased) Nielson, Springville, UT, Thayne (Kathy) Alred, Medina, OH, grandchildren: Stephanie Nielson, Mandy Thomas, Nicholas Nielson, Kaylie Sniff, Ian Alred and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Betty.
