Mr. Gause's obituary from the St. Petersburg Times, dated 20 June 2008 ~~
"Gause, Robert P., 88, lifelong resident of the area died June 18, 2008. He was a graduate from Tarpon Springs High School in 1938. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a USS Indianapolis survivor. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Old Timers Club and USS Indianapolis Survivors.

He is survived by wife of 67 years, Norma Neal; 2 sons, Robert Gause and Dr. Garrett (Ginny) Gause, both of Tarpon Springs; 2 daughters, Shannon Morrow and Rebekah (Lonnie) Dukes, both of New Port Richey; 1 brother, Dr. Curtis Gause, St Petersburg; 1 sister, Caroline Spoto, Spencer, TN; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a trust account is being set up for the family of Joshua Barker, Robert's grandson, who is currently on life support. A memorial service will be held at 2 on Monday, June 23 at the First United Methodist Church, Tarpon Springs. Vinson Funeral Home, Tarpon Springs, 727-937-6111."
