Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 15, in the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home for Samuel Albert Allen, of the Hibernia community in Taylor County, who died of a heart attack while walking to the General Store at Hibernia, Friday, November 13. Services were in charge of Rev. Leo Pelle, of Louisville, with burial in Otter Creek Cemetery. Mr. Allen was the son of the late Lucy Buley and Bee Allen. He was born in Larue County, August 28, 1877. He was married to Miss Zanie Allen some 50 years ago and she preceded him in death February 9, 1948. He is survived by three daughters and one son, Mrs. Goldie DeSpain, Star Route City; Altha DeSpain, City; Mrs. Nova Millican, Kalamazoo, Mich.; and Lilburn Allen, of Louisville. Besides his children, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Rilla Stillwell, Mt. Sherman; Mrs. Becky Ann Allen, Star Route, City; also three half-sisters and two half-brothers, Mrs. Nellie Brewer, Mrs. Truman Lewis, Mrs. Roxie Caulk, Lee and Curtis Allen, all of Louisville; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Claud Underwood, Raymond Brewer, Harlan Hash, Joe Hurst, Joe Taylor and Howard Hash. Kentucky Death Records Index, rootsweb
