Member of the House of Burgess, Va. Society of the Cincinnati. Taken prisoner in the Battle of Germantown, Marylnad, during the Revolutionary Wars. he did not retune to his regiment.

After the War, he went to North Carolina, in 1784. Then later to what is now Nashville Tn., where he died.
Suffered many hardships with the Nashville Indians,recieved bounty lands and half pay. Land warrent prior to 1784. Married second wife mary barnett.
