Clyde died in Springfield Hospital at age 44 of Septicemia. CW Moore is the informant on his MO Death Certificate.

From the Greenfield Vedette, November 15, 1917 - Homer Clyde Birch was born Feb 22, 1874 and departed this life November 9, 1917, aged 43 years, 8 months and 17 days. He was married to Serena Glenn August 28 1892, and to this union eight children were born, one having died in infancy. The remaining seven were all present at the funeral.
Bro. Birch professed faith in Christ some eight years ago. He was a great lover of music and spent many hours singing the beautiful songs of Zion. He will be missed in church as well as in the home and community.
Brother Birch was a good citizen and neighbor as well as a loving father. How the dear precious children will miss him, the Lord only knows. Let us all lend them a helping hand in this great sore trial.
Children give your hearts to Jesus and he will give you grace and help in every time of need. Brother Birch told his friends good-bye and told them he was ready to go. Blessed are they that die in the Lord.
The funeral was conducted at the home of his parents in Dadeville, Sunday, November 10, the the presence of a great host of sympathizing friends, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Dadeville Cemetery to await the resurrection morn. ---R.C. Oldham
