THAWVILLE — Wilma Lucille Flessner, 83, of Thawville, died at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the Illinois Knights Templar Home in Paxton.
Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roberts. Burial will be in Lyman Township Cemetery in Roberts. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Lamb-Young Funeral Home in Roberts is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Flessner was born July 15, 1929, in Peoria, a daughter of Charles Leslie and Ella Thomas Wright. She married Merle L. Flessner on June 18, 1949, in Peoria. He died Oct. 21, 2004.
Surviving are four children, Karen L. (Leonard) Rentz of Paxton, Susan L. (Harold) King of Springfield, Peggy L. (Mark) Bargmann of Longwood, Fla., and Brian L. (Deb) Flessner of Roberts; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Wilburn and Lewis Wright.
She worked as a secretary for Hicks Office in Roberts for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roberts, active in church women's groups, the Roberts American Legion Auxiliary, and was church choir director. She was known for her cinnamon rolls and pie slices.
Memorials may be made to her church or the Roberts Gym Fund.
