MCLEANSVILLE, NC ~ Mary Daisy Mansfield, 90, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Guilford Health Care following several months of failing health.
There will be a graveside service conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Milton Wilder.
She was the wife to the late William Thompson and the late O.H. Mansfield and the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Rosa Smith O'Neal.
She was a native of Davie County and retired from Jones Fur Service and a member of Hines Chapel.
Survivors include her daughters: Janet Cooper of Julian and Jane Close of Fayetteville; an adopted son, Mike Mansfield; grandchildren: Clayton Cooper, Wayne Cooper and Glenda Coble all of Julian, Gary Close of Tennesee, Gay Tyndall of Fayetteville, Mike Hill, Steve Hill, Chris Hill and Tim Hill all of Durham; 14 great-grandchildren; four adopted grandchildren; step-daughters: Pauline Ferguson of Greensboro and Esqueritta Biddix of Kernersville; stepsons: Leland Mansfield of Randleman and Larry Mansfield of Julian; 18 step-grandchildren; sisters: Rose Harding and Dolly Perry both of Greensboro and Barbara Vaughan of Chapel Hill.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ella Hill, four sisters and two brothers.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and at other times at the home of a daughter Janet Cooper, 5724 Sizemore Road, Julian.
