After the Revolution, he moved to VA c 1786-1792 with his parents Jonathan Bolton and Elizabeth Scherer (dau of Valentine Scherer and Maria Catherine Jungling) and his siblings. Many of his siblings baptisms are recorded in Philadelphia from 1774-1786. One son born 1792 says VA.) (Her parents died 1785 and 1789 so may be reason for leaving)
