BROWN, Vera Theodora
"Gigi"
age 92, passed away September 22, 2007, in Rosamond. She was born January 19, 1915, in Oakland; California, and has lived in the Antelope Valley since 1949. Vera was the first woman to be hired at North American at Plant 42 in 1951, retiring after 27 years of service. She was President of the National Secretary Association. She loved playing golf and was member of the Rockwell Retiree Golf Club were she was the secretary. Vera is survived by one son and one daughter; Stephen W. Brown of Lancaster and Georgia and her husband Larry Wilburn of Rosamond; one brother, John Reimers of Medford, Oregon. Vera also leaves behind two grandsons, Curtis Coakley and Brian and his wife Kathy Coakley; one granddaughter, Sherry Smith; six great- granddaughters and one great- grandson, Tiffany, Danielle, and Samantha Smith, Tori and Tawni Coakley, and Nathan and Brianna Coakley. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd "Buzz" Brown on December 11, 1996. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2007, with Funeral Services starting at 1 p.m., at Halley-Olsen- Murphy, Lancaster Chapel.
