LORING A. LACEY, - a resident of HENDERSON county for a little more than forty years, then a resident of MONMOUTH for about six years, died at his home, 805 East Third avenue, July 9, 1898, aged about 68 years. He had been in failing health for about two years and the end was not unexpected.
Mr. LACEY was born in WAYNE county, IND., August 30, 1830, and came with his parents to HENDERSON county in 1841, settling in the neighborhood of SALTER'S GROVE.
He was married at MACOMB in 1854 to Miss MARTHA BEARD, who survived him,
with two daughters,
Miss EVELYN,
and Mrs. ELLA HUTCHMAN,
both of whom now live at PITTSBURG, KANSAS.
Mr. LACEY was a member of the Presbyterian church of KIRKWOOD, and later of the Presbyterian church in MONMOUTH.
His funeral services were conducted by Dr. A.H. DEAN, assisted by Rev. J.F. JAMIESON, who had graduated from Monmouth college in the class with Miss EVELYN, and burial was at SALTER'S GROVE cemetery.
