Jean (Jan) was born in Nove Mesto nad Vahom, Trecin, Slovakia. He was living in Slovakia in 1925, but soon after moved to the Czech/Slovak area of Paris; later lived in Argenteuil. He served in World War I and World War II; was shot twice (through the nose and through the foot), and was frozen on the Russian ground. He was a welder/brazier.
