Ruth J. Fields, 76, of 415 W. Frack St., Frackville, died Tuesday her at home.
Born in Frackville, March 10, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Berger Phillips.
She was a graduate of Frackville High School and Reading Hospital School of Nursing.
Ruth retired as a nursing supervisor from the former Pottsville Hospital & Warne Clinic.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Frackville, and Pottsville Hospital Retired Nursing Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fields, on Aug. 4, 1999; and a brother, Robert Phillips.
Surviving are son, Brian Fields, and his wife, Stacey, McCordsville, Ind.; two daughters, Sharon Wetzel and her husband, Douglas, Dover, and Susan Wolfe and her husband, Steve, Pine Grove; two granddaughters, Laura Stine and her husband, Joel, and Erin Wetzel; a sister, Linda Hein, Ocala, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Grace Phillips, Frackville; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Nice- Hart Funeral Home Inc., 9 N. Lehigh Ave., Frackville, with the Rev. Gene Stephenson officiating. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Frackville Free Public Library, 56 N. Lehigh Ave., Frackville, PA 17931.
