ANGIERI-- Philip, Sr. , 78. Phil died peacefully with his family members at his side, February 8, 1999 at the Claremore Veterans Center. Tulsa resident for 51 years. Retired from American Airlines after 31 years. World War II Veteran, Company B, 33rd Combat Engineers, Grade Tech 5 and received a Purple Heart for wounds received in battle, August 24, 1944. Nassau County Golden Gloves Boxing Champion, 1937; The News Welfare Association, Inc. Golden Gloves Boxing Champion, 1938; 7th Armored Division Boxing Champion, 1943-1944, Middleweight. He was a member of Moose Lodge, Chapter #862; American Legion Post #1, Carson Wilson; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9077. He recorded a hole-in-one at the Mohawk Golf Course, reported in Golf Digest magazine. Phil was a loving husband and father and a friend to all who knew him. Survived by: wife, Marie Angieri; 2 sons, Phil Angieri Jr. and Daniel P. Angieri; 2 daughters-in-law, Joyce Angieri and Pamela Sasser Angieri; 2 step-daughters, Vera Stahl, Sandra Turley; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Service 10 a.m., Friday at the Rose Hill Chapel, 835-4421.
