Shawnee resident Otis P. Sloan, 71, died Thursday, June 16, in Oklahoma City.
He was born Jan. 4, 1934, in Little Axe to Tom and Nellie (Maharty) Sloan.
He was a retired self-employed brick and stone mason.
He was married to Ester Jean Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; uncle, Ted Sloan; aunts, Helen Martell, Lillian Little Axe and Lillie Ellis.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Sloan, of the home; three sons, Mike Sloan, Venezuela; Freddie Sloan, Oklahoma City, and Alan Kaseca, Shawnee; two stepdaughters; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family members, including uncles, James Sloan and Wendell Sloan, both of Little Axe; aunts: Margie Kanatobe, Newalla, Esteline Schulenberg, Norman. and Jennifer Sloan, Tecumseh.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, at Absentee Shawnee Tribal Cemetery in Little Axe. Viewing will begin 9 a.m.
Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh is directing arrangements.
