Norma Helen Mettler
MOJAVE — Graveside services will be held Friday, June 17 at the Mojave Cemetery for longtime Mojave resident Norma Helen Mettler, 74, who passed away at her home in Mojave on June 13th.
Norma was born January 14, 1931, in Long Beach, California, to Morton and Jenny Johnson. She married James Raleigh Mettler in February of 1948, and they moved to Mojave where they lived for 56 years. She worked for the Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power for 40 years.
Norma loved camping at Lake Tahoe and fishing at Crowley Lake. Her life revolved around her family and she loved the small-town atmosphere of Mojave and never wanted to live anywhere else.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Thompson of Mojave, son James Mettler of Quartz Hill, grandchildren Bonnie Sue, Dale, Bonnie, and Kelly, and great-grandchildren Brittany and Colton. She was predeceased by James Mettler, her husband of 54 years, in 2002.
Wood Family Funeral Service of Tehachapi handled the arrangements
