Death: Feb. 2, 2005

Eula M. Chase passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, after a short battle with cancer. Eula was a resident of Tooele for over 40 years and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Floyd Chase and daughter-in-law Pamela Chase.

Eula was active in the Tooele Church of Christ for over 40 years. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Chase of Tooele; her son F. L. Chase of Dallas, Texas; her granddaughter Tiffany Dean; Tiffany’s husband, Jay Dean; a great-granddaughter Linzy Dean of Houston, Texas; her grandson Christopher Chase; his wife Darci Chase; and great-grandson Jackson Connor Chase also of Houston, Texas.

Eula was born in Hamlin, Texas, in August 1923. She was preceded in death by her dearly loved four sisters and six brothers.

Eula met Floyd Chase and they married in April 1941 in Abilene, Texas. They later moved to Benicia, Calif., where they lived and raised their two children. Floyd was transferred to the Tooele Army Depot in 1962.

Eula and Floyd traveled throughout the United States after Floyd retired from the Tooele Army Depot. They spent their winters in El Centro, Calif., for over 15 years and enjoyed the extended Chase family who joined them there. Floyd’s brothers and sisters went to great lengths to welcome Eula back each year to El Centro to enjoy her winters and her extended Chase family.

Eula spent most of her time enjoying just being with family and friends. She loved gardening, crafts, golfing and reading the Bible. She will be remembered by all for her many acts of kindness and being the gentle, kind person who everyone loved. She was so proud of her grandchildren Chris and Tiffany.

One of her greatest thrills was the birth of her two great-grandchildren Linzy Dean and Jackson Conner Chase. She loved them dearly and covered her house with their pictures. She was blessed with their many visits and videos sent by her grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of Christ in Tooele on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at 2 p.m.
