Irvine K Brennecke, Sr

Chester, Dec 21 [1913] -- Irvine K Brennecke, Sr, son of Mr and Mrs C H Brennecke of this city, passed away at his home at Jonesville, Union County, Monday morning at 5 o'clock, following a long illness. He was 40 years of age.

The funeral services were held at the home of the parents of the deceased on Centre Street in this city yesterday afteroon by the Rev Dr A D P Gilmour, pastor of Purity Presbyterian church, and the interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

For a number of years Mr Brennecke enjoyed the distinction of being one of the best railroad mechanics in this section of the South. He was born in Chester and spent his early life here, where he has many friends. He was a devoted member of the Jonesville M E Church.

He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Nannie Askew of Mt Tabor, and they had been married 17 years last July, and the following children also survive: Irvine K Brennecke, Jr, of Chester ad Alice Brennecke, Comer Brennecke, and Theodore Brennecke of Jonesville.
