Bonita T. Pettyjohn, age 68, of New Haven, Il died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. Bonita was born in Mt. Vernon, IN on January 11, 1945 to the late William and Lydia (Higgenbottom) Goodman. She was a homemaker and loved to be around her children and grandchildren. She loved to read and cook. She was a good mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed.
Bonita is survived by 2 sons, Darell Pettyjohn of Mt. Vernon, IN, and Larry Pettyjohn of New Haven, IL. 5 daughters, Janet Miller of New Haven, Donna Bowers, of Princeton, KY, Loretta Wayland of Grayville, IL, Libby Downen of Grayville, IL and Wilma Lara of Mt. Vernon, IN, 23 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. 3 Brothers, Glen Goodman of Evansville, IN, Raymond Goodman of Mt. Vernon, IN and Danny Goodman of Corydon, IN. 3 Sisters, Leota Whittaker of Mt. Vernon, IN, Rosemary Holtzclaw of Mooreville, IN, and Verla Rivers of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Bill, Charles and Paul Goodman 2 sisters, Dorothy Walker and Betty Thomas and 1 grandchild.
Cremation will be accorded and a private inurnment of her cremains will be held at a later date in Union Ridge Cemetery. Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven is entrusted with the arrangements.
