JANESVILLE - Robert H. Balas, age 53, of 1742 S. Arch St., died Wed., Dec. 12, 1990, at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Janesville, May 16, 1937, the son of Henry and June (Stevens) Balas. He served in the Navy during the Korean War from Oct. 4, 1954 to Aug. 6, 1958. He was employed at JATCO for 20 years as a yard person. He was an area resident all of his life and was a member of Moose Lodge No. 197 of Janesville.
He is survived by his father, Henry Balas; a brother, Jerry (Sandra) Balas; 3 nieces: Cindy Fox, Tina and Tanya Balas, all of Janesville; 3 nephews: Jay Balas of Pocatello, ID, Bret and Scott Balas of Janesville; 5 great nieces and nephews; 2 uncles, John and Charles Balas of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Voss, and a brother, Baron Balas...
