Mrs. Sjoerd De Vries
After a short illness and operation, Mrs. Sjoerd De Vries , Nee Jennie Attema, passed away in the Bey hospital Thursday afternoon April 3.
She was born in Friesland, Netherlands in 1866 and came to this country with het father and two brothers in 1893.
A year later she was united in marriage to Mr. Sjoerd De Vries, who preceded her in death eight years ago.
Five children were born to this union and survive their parents, namely, Gerrit, Oscar, Anna, Mrs. John Van Gelder, Agnes, Mrs. Jake Huizenga and Charles, also 25 grandchildren and two brothers, Reins and Pierce Attema, of Rock Valley.
Rev. B. Bronkema conducted the services at the home and in the First Christian Reformed church Monday afternoon. Burial
was made in the local cemetery.
