Vernon Doxtater, 80, of Mauston, Wis., died Saturday, Feb.13, 2010, at Fairview Nursing Home in Mauston. Vernon was born and raised in Milwaukee, the son of Vernon and Carrie (Wentz) Doxtater.
He had served his country in the United States Army during the Japanese Occupation. After an honorable discharge he returned and worked as a semi driver for Kohl Foods for 22 years. He lived in the Mauston area since 1980.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Union Highland Chapel in Florence, Colo. The Conway-Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Lyndon Station assisted the family with arrangements.
