In Boston Dec 24, 1987, Theodore Jeffrey Aleixo Sr., husband of Rose (Rico) Aleixo, residence 11 Benefit Street, Taunton. Funeral from the Silva Funeral Home Monday Dec 28 at 9 A.M. Funeral Mass in St. Anthony's Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorials in may be made in his name to the charity of your choice.

Theodore J. Aleixo, father of State Rep. Theodore J. Aleixo Jr., died Thursday at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston. Aleixo, president and treasurer of Aleixo Insurance Agency, was husband of Rose (Rico) Aleixo. He was 77. Born in Taunton, he was son of the late Francisco and Maria Gloria Aleixo. Aleixo was former president of the Portuguese American Civic Club, of which he was a life member, past president of the North Bristol County Realtors, and one of the founders and first presidents of the Cassidy Father's Club.
He also served as a president of the Holy Name Society of St. Anthony's Church, and held life memberships in the Taunton Lodge of Elks, and Kiwanis Club of Taunton. He was an active member of the Herring Run Golf Club, the Taunton Independent Insurance Agents, and the Independent Insurance Agents of Massachusetts. He also served on the board of directors of the Bank of Taunton, and was a member of the Morton Hospital Corporation. In the past, Aleixo served as chairman of the Taunton fundraising campaign of the American Heart Association and the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
In addition to his wife and son, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Susan) O'Brien, Mary E. Aleixo and Margaret R. Aleixo, all of Taunton; a brother, Edward F. Aleixo of Taunton; four sisters, Blanche Francis of East Boston, Angela Lallier of Cumberland, RI, Elsie Crowder of West Yarmouth, and Ida Vass of Pawtucket, RI; and five grandchildren. Burial will be Monday at St. Joseph's Cemetery. The Aleixo Insurance Agency will not open that day family members said.
