Lazzari, Olga Marie, 87, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2013, at Lexington Health & Rehab Center under care of Suncoast Hospice. She was born in Colón, Panama on October 21, 1925, and lived in Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida. She loved God, was a faithful Christian and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving family: Children, Julie L. Marshall (William), Sandra Dean (Philip), Madge "Mardi" Miller (Donald), Donald S. Lazzari (Deceased), Peter R. Lazzari (Linda) and Deann L. Wojcicki (Hank); Grandchildren, Paul T. Brabenec (Tara), Jennifer M. Bleakley (Darrell), Cynthia M. Watson (Kevin), Christine M. Helf (Philip), Michelle M. Huebener, Jennifer M. Bernard (Cameron), Brandon P. Lazzari and Austin M. Lazzari; Great Grandchildren, Michele Wain, Andrew Bleakley, Ella Bleakley, Bradley M. Watson, Marissa A. Watson, Lindsey Marie Watson, Philip E. Helf, Christopher A. Helf, Cassidy Huebener, Devin Bernard and Jason Bernard. Olga was also eagerly anticipating the summer birth of twin great grandchildren (a boy and a girl) to her Grandson Paul and his wife, Tara. We know she will be smiling in Heaven on that day.
Olga was a joy to be around and always had a pleasant word for all who knew her. She was an eternal lady, a smiling encourager, our tireless cheerleader and a great example of a well-lived Christian life. She was a baseball enthusiast, a Florida Gator fan and enjoyed watching game shows. She loved to take care of her family and was a "kiddie" magnet. She earned the nicknames "Mamacita" for her petite stature, "Mama Lazzari" and "Mama L" for the weekly spaghetti dinners for our friends…but best of all she was "Momma Bear" for her life-long support for her adoring family. She was always loving and will be forever loved. Her legacy of caring will continue for future generations.
Our deepest appreciation for the compassionate caring staff at Lexington. You took Miss Olga into your hearts and became her Lexington family. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Suncoast Hospice or Salvation Army. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, on Thursday, May 23rd from 7-9:00 PM and on Saturday, May 25th from 10-11 AM. A Celebration of Life will be at 11 AM and graveside service directly after.
