Prominent Politician and Land Owner at Arcola Ill.
Arcola, Ill., Sept. 2. — James M. Cox, one of the most prominent, as well as one of the oldest, residents in this section died at his home in this city Friday. Mr. Cox was an extensive land owner, and was an influential politician. He was twice elected to the office of County Treasurer in the eighties, but of late years had retired to private life. He was 69 years of age and leaves a large family of grown sons.
