Funeral services for Susan Becher, 90, homemaker of Ferdinand, who died Thursday, June 20, 1991 at 5:48p.m. in Scenic Hills Care Center at Ferdinand, were held Monday, June 24, at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Susan was born on August 12, 1900 at Ferdinand, daughter of John G. and Mary (Knapp) Seger. She married Othmar W. Becher on November 13, 1923 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1964.
She was a member of St. Ann’s Sodality, of D. & I., Ferdinand Legion Auxiliary Post 124 and St. Ferdinand Parish.
She was survived by four sons, Thomas, Charles, Joseph, and Franklin; three daughters, Mary Ann, Cyrilla, Ruth; 38 grandchildren; 50 Great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
She was the last surviving member of her family. Preceding her in death besides her husband were one brother, August Seger, and two sisters, Gertrude Mehling and Philomena Berger.
Friends could call after 2 p.m. Sunday at Becher Funeral Home, where a parish rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m., followed by an American Legion Auxiliary Memorial service.
Becher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Granddaughter Mary Jo Fender, Grandson John Eric Becher, and Great Grandson Michael John Lykins.
