Harry Tharp, 82, of Hyndman, died Sunday morning at the Cumberland Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hyndman RD 1 Aug. 25, 1898, the son of William and Jane (Emerick) Tharp.
He is survived by his wife, Ardelia (Divelbiss) Tharp, and by four daughters: Mrs. Mildred Smith, of Hyndman; Mrs. Helen Turner, Manns Choice RD l; Mrs. Eleanor Waugerman, Buffalo Mills RD l; and Mrs. Shirley Roberson, Cumberland. Mr. Tharp is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Emma Tharp, Hyndman; 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was a lifetime resident of Hyndman and a retired Chessie System engineer. He was a member of the Hyndman Lodge F and AM 589, a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers No. 50, and a member of the Harrisburg Consistory 32nd Degree AASR.
Funeral services will be held at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Timothy Stamper officiating. Interment will be in the Hyndman Cemetery.
