Mary E (Slaven) Zachary, 88, Anderson, died December 21, 2006 at her residence after an extended illness.
She resided in Anderson, Indiana 64 years.
Mary was a homemaker and wonderful mother.
She was a former member of Victory Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church. She loved gardening and had a wonderful collection of teddy bears.
A special thanks to all hospice nurses, especially Joyce.
She is survived by her six children: Peggy McCord and Karen Jones both of Anderson, Sharon (Neil) Allmond of Jackson KY, Jack Zachary, Scot Zachary and Carol See of Anderson and Don Zachary of Anderson. Daughter-in-law Shirley Zachary. Siblings: Dottie Wheeler of Florida, Evelene Slaven of TN, Francene Roberts of Anderson, Ken Slaven of TN and Joe (Beth) Slaven of TN. Also surviving are approximately 180 grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Special friends: Katie Rinker, Mary Lou Griffey 104392613 and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years: Walter Sidney Zachary who passed away in 1985. Parents: John Cal and Octie Lena (Downs) Slaven. Siblings:
Dorothy Zachary, Ima Jean Choate, Meade Slaven, Bud Slaven and William Lester Slaven. Son: Walter Gene Zachary, Son-in-Law Les McCord and Daughter-in-Law Rita Zachary.
Services will be Tuesday, December 26, 2006@ 1 pm, @ Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson, with Dr Vance Davis officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St John's Hospoce or the American Cancer Society
Visitation will be from 11-1 pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at funeral home, south chapel.
