She was the youngest daughter of Arthur "Bill" Sterling Price & Martha Bruenell Brunson Price. While growing up, because of her father's job with a pipe line company Barbara, moved around several cities in Oklahoma, Texas, Penn. & back to Jacksonville, Texas in the 1960s. In the early 1960s, she met & married her husband L. W. Grant in Jacksonville, Texas. The couple moved to Kilgore in the mid 60s & to Danville in the late 60s. They called they home, "Grant's Hill."
