George Joseph Anthony was born March 12, 1887 in Bennertown Pa. He was one of a family of eleven children of William ans Mary, nee Benner, Anthony.

His boyhood was spent at his birth place. He was married to Lucy Timblin of Best Corners, Pa. May 17, 1909. The became the parents of eight children, seven of whom with their mother survive him; one Georgeanna June having died at the age of 21 months.

Eleven grandchildren survive him, as well as many nieces and nephews. There is four sisters living and one brother.

These relatives and many friends, which he made wherever he went are mingling sorrows of his sickness and death.

He was a member of Miles Park Methodist Church, having joined the same with Mrs. Anthony in the same home recently. He had previously been a member of the Methodist Church of Ligonier Pa.

His heroic struggle with the dread disease which claimed his physical life, but could not harm his faith, compels us to say,
"Servant of God, well done,
They glorious warfare's past
The battle's fought, the race is won
and thou art crowned at last."
