Cemetery records show age to be 18 years

bap. 23 Sep. 1885 Moline, Rock Island IL.

"After two years of untold suffering from injuries received while skating, Miss Hulda Maria Ed, daughter of ex-Ald. and Mrs. Gust Ed, died at 5:30 o'clock Friday evening, the direct cause of death being phthisis. Nearly two years ago she sustained a fracture of her knee on the ice, since which time she has been ailing. Her father kept her for a year at the Augustana hospital at Chicago, from where she returned last October but she was no better. She was born in this city May 22, 1885, consequently being 18 years past. She leaves to mourn her untimely loss the bereaved parents and eight brothers and sisters, who are Albert, Jennie, Ida, Robert, Joseph, Esther, Levi and Gilbert, all at home. The funeral was held from the home, 406 Third avenue, Sunday afternoon from the Madison Tabernacle church at 2 o'clock, Rev. M. J. Eggan officiating."
