Donald Carl Anderson, 77, passed away to be with our Lord Jesus Christ in paradise on November 6, 2007 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Don was born on January 10, 1930 in Youngstown, OH; to Carl and Clara (Perry) Anderson. Don graduated from North Lima High School in North Lima, OH; in May 1948 and went to work for Youngstown Sheet and Tube.

In 1951, Don answered the call from President Harry Truman and enlisted in the United States Navy, serving with pride and honor, during the Korean Conflict. After being discharged from the Navy in 1955, he relocated to and settled in Southern California. Don worked for General Telephone Company and became an inside and outside plant supervisor in Norwalk, Bellflower and Artesia. He spent the last 10 years of his 30 year career in Joshua Tree, CA.

Don was a lifetime Rotarian, recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award and a true believer in the four way test. He was past president of the Joshua Tree Rotary Club from 1983 – 1984 and chaired many other committees. Don was president of the Joshua Tree Chamber of Commerce from 1985 – 1986. He worked diligently for the funding of Copper Mountain College in Joshua Tree and was on the College Founders Club.

Don was a truly loving Husband, Father, and Grandpa. In his younger years, he enjoyed boating, dune buggying, motorcycles and Fords, in which he had several, old and new. He retired to Lake Havasu City in 1989 from Joshua Tree, CA.

Don leaves behind his wife Kathleen Anderson of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughter, Susan Cahoon of Scarbrough, ME; son, Dan Anderson of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughter, Denise Morchak of Craig, CO; brothers, Dave Anderson of Youngstown, OH; Jim Anderson of Richmond, VA; Dick Anderson of North Lima, OH; and sister, Ruth Regan, also of North Lima, OH. Don is also survived by his 8 wonderful grandchildren, Kristi, Nattley, Chucky, Brandon, Brittney, Ashley, Amanda and Angela. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Don Jr.

From Kathy to her beloved Don, "The Lord bless you and keep you, The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you, The Lord lift his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26.

Visitation will be held at Lamb of God Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Olive Lawn Memorial Park in La Mirada, CA; on Monday, November 12, 2007.
