A.E. Goodsell, wife of Mr. G. D. Goodsell, died at her home on State street, Monday morning, June 7th, 1875. She showed symptoms of consumption about three years ago, and has been gradually wasting away ever since.
She was born in Dimock, Susquehanna County, Penn., Jan. 19th, 1835 and was married Feb. 18th, 1852. Soon after her marriage she moved to Rockford with her husband, and lived here until her death. She was a devoted wife, a noble mother, and a most earnest Christian. Her death was a fitting close to a good life--it was very peaceful.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday, in the Third street M.E. Church, of which she was a member for many years. The services were conducted by the pastor, and her remains interred in the East Side cemetery.
