1850 - Born to John L. O'Neal (1811-1857) and wife--Martha Green (Freeman) (1819-1909) in Havana Twp., Mason County, IL. He was the seventh of eight known children.

His siblings were: Joseph (1839-1867); Susan P. (1841-1843); Ann Eliza O'Neal Millison (1843-1929); Prander S. (1845-1924) -----son: Noah J. O'Neal (1884-1974) ; Francis Jeanette O'Neal Close (1848-1931) John Frank (1848-1937); Himself; Ella E. O'Neal Glaze (1853-1924)

1887 - 10 March. Phi and his second wife, Phoebe Emeline "Emma" Canaday (1865-1927) were married on this date in the Methodist Episcopal Church by Rev. J. A. Still in Bogard, Carroll Co, MO. She was the daughter of John C. Canaday (1839-1903) and Mary A. Shockley (1843-1877) (age 37 yrs.)
