Ora Arrington , 82, died Friday (Jan. 14, 2000) at Holston Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Scott County, Va., on June 10, 1917 to the late William and Jenny Reed Arrington . Mr. Arrington was a retired farmer, was of the Holiness faith and attended Fairview Church of Jesus Christ.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Annabelle Gilreath; and two brothers, J.R. (June) Arrington and Omer Arrington .

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Lillie Gilliam Arrington, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and J.C. Qualls, Fairview, Va.; two sisters, Oma Goins, Rogersville and Juanita McMillan, Duffield, Va.; one brother, Carson Arrington , Duffield, Va.; grandson, Michael Qualls, Fairview, Va.; great-great-granddaughter, Lora Michelle Qualls; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, Va., or anytime at the daughter's residence.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joe Coffey officiating. Music will be by Melody Men.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Holston View Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Pallbearers will be Frank Berry, Paul Berry, Johnny Berry, Kedric Berry, Jack Goins, Rex Gilreath.
